For the past few years I’ve been deconstructing and reconstructing textiles in my painting practice. Though familiar with my materials from my previous career as a textile designer, I use them in a very different way. I’m interested in the expressiveness of fabric and pattern and the autobiographical information embedded within them. Markings reveal cultural stories that intertwine with my own idiosyncratic roots and visual memories. I live and work in two places - Toronto and Tel Aviv - and also spend time in Kailua, Hawaii. Textiles are easy to travel with and keep me connected with the place I’ve just left.

I see my work as painting, but with fabric and thread instead of latex and oils. My work has always been and is still rooted in a deep love and preoccupation with colour.
