My work has always been and still is rooted in a deep love and preoccupation with colour.

For the past few years I’ve been using textiles in my painting practice. Though familiar with my materials from my previous career as a textile designer, I now use them in different ways. Fabric and pattern become blocks of colour and texture and the expressive qualities embedded in these materials inform my work. Hanging and draping textiles have sensual qualities reminiscent of the human body. Patterns are loaded with cultural information about history, gender, race, religion and politics. In my work I sew together textile remnants from varied sources in an attempt to discover new and unexpected connections, relationships and patterns.

I live and work in two places, Toronto and Tel Aviv, and also spend time in Kailua, Hawaii. Textiles are easy to travel with and keep me connected with the place I just left.
